What makes a great happy hour

What makes a great happy hour? Convenient hours, good strong drinks, delicious food, great ambiance, friendly, fast and attentive bartenders, fun company and all at a reasonable (cheap!) price.

There are experts in many fields and if there is one thing Jo and Julie know – it’s a great Happy Hour.  When getting together after work, the first question is “Where shall we go?” which is quickly followed by “What time does Happy Hour end?”

But even experts can learn more.  Lifelong Learning isn’t just a buzzword for libraries.  No, Jo and Julie have decided to expand our knowledge.  We want to explore new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no women have gone before, in sum: we want to go to EVERY HAPPY HOUR IN SANTA CRUZ!

We are talking A to Z, from Asti to Zeldas, from dive bars to the fanciest restaurants – if they have a happy hour, we will be there!  We will be writing up our adventures and rating the bars and restaurants with our very own shot glass rating system.  We aren’t sure how long it will take- but we are up to the challenge. 

We say to the bars of Santa Cruz:

 “Show us what you got,

   We’ll give you a shot!”
